home. We are dedicated to
making this site a place for
educating people more about
horse color as well as
foaling. While we no longer
raise horses ourselves, we
do still educated people
about foaling mares and the
newborn foal. On occasion we
do take in foaling mares.
And we do offer stalls to
foal your mare out in. Many
boarding facilities do not
allow a mare to foal out at
their facility so we offer a
foaling stall to you and
your expectant mare. The
cost to foal out your mare
is $500/month we keep a
close watch on her and will
contact you as soon as we
think she is ready to foal.
We have cameras in the barn
to watch the mare even
closer. And can record the
foaling if you like. What
would you expect leaving
your expectant mare here?
All mares
are bathed (weather
permitting) when close to
foaling, their stalls are
kept with clean shavings,
however when the mare is
close to foaling we change
out the bedding for clean
straw. Mares are checked
numerous times a day to
watch for changes in
appetite, behavior, and
changes in their body as
foaling approaches. A
foaling journal is kept
online on our website for
you to check in daily as the
mare makes changes. You are
welcome to come see your
mare any time you like. Once
we know foaling is imminent
we braid and bag the mares
tail, once the foal arrives
it is given an enema to help
pass the muconium, the navel
stump is dipped in iodine,
and before the foal is 24
hours old it is given a
tetanus shot.
